Christine is a native New Yorker with over twenty years of experience in the legal industry. Before going in-house, she was a partner at a boutique full service law firm in New York, where she started her career as a commercial litigation associate and later co-founded the firm's Telecommunications and Internet Law practice as a partner.
She currently serves as General Counsel for MediaCo, LLC, which acquired the National Enquirer, National Enquirer UK, Star, Globe and the National Examiner from a360 Media, LLC (formerly American Media, Inc.), where Christine had served as General Counsel - Media.
Christine has extensive experience counseling company executives, editorial staff, reporters, employees and freelancers on all types of legal issues, including, but certainly not limited to, defamation, privacy, intellectual property and publicity rights, contracts and litigation.
Christine is an experienced litigator and has represented plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of civil and commercial matters. She has defended numerous consumer class action lawsuits nationwide and represented clients before state AGs and the FTC for claims of deceptive marketing, false advertising and consumer fraud.
She has worked in the rapidly-evolving fields of Internet law, digital marketing and telemarketing law, data privacy and security law, and has assisted many clients with online harassment and defamation issues.
Christine is skilled at negotiating and drafting complex licensing, marketing and other agreements. She assists clients in the prosecution and maintenance of their trademarks and copyrights, as well as with infringement-related claims.
Christine speaks, lectures and writes extensively on digital marketing, intellectual property and Internet-related issues. Her legal analysis has been featured on ABC7 News and ASIS International’s Security Management magazine. She serves on the Advisory Board of Reputation Communications, a nationally recognized online reputation management company serving CEOs, business leaders, rising stars, VIPs and their organizations, including the Fortune 500.
Christine is admitted to practice in New York State and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
She is a graduate of New York Law School, cum laude, where she served as Law Review Articles Editor and as a member of the Journal of Human Rights, in which one of her articles was published. During law school, she worked for the Honorable David G. Trager of the Eastern District of New York and investigated discrimination complaints for the New York City Commission on Human Rights. She also helped out in the Admissions Office and gave tours of the school to prospective students.
Christine is a graduate of Fordham University (Fordham College at Lincoln Center), where she interned at the United Nations, was a member of the Fordham University Emerging Leaders Program (FUEL), and welcomed incoming students as an Orientation Leader. She was also inducted into the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society.
